How to check if your phone supports eSIM (iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi and more)
Before buying an eSIM, make sure your phone supports it. It takes less than a minute.
The fastest way: dial *#06#
Open the dialer and type *#06#. If a long number called EID appears next to the IMEI, your phone supports eSIM. If there's no EID, it most likely doesn't.
On iPhone
Go to Settings → Cellular. If you see “Add eSIM”, it's supported. iPhones from XS and XR onward support eSIM, except some models sold in mainland China and Hong Kong with two physical SIM slots.
On Samsung
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager. If you see “Add eSIM”, you're good. Most Galaxy S models from S20 onward, Z Fold and Z Flip, and some recent A models support it, but some regional versions don't, so the code is the safest check.
On Google Pixel, Xiaomi and others
Google Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM. Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and others have some models that do and some that don't, so rely on the *#06# code or search Settings for “eSIM”.
Important: the phone must be unlocked
If your phone is locked to a specific carrier, it may not accept an eSIM from another provider. Most phones sold in Egypt are unlocked.
